CHILDREN

AT SELMA UMC, WE ARE ALL ABOUT CHILDREN & YOUTH

Caring for children and impacting their lives for Jesus Christ has been a priority at Selma UMC for years, and we prove it every day!  All of our Children's Ministry environments have focused teaching that is reinforced through large group worship and teaching, small group discussion, hands on activities, and real life application.

We don't want to just teach children about Jesus... we want to help them live their lives for him every day!

So how do we do it?  Here are some of the ways...

  • Children's Church: Every Sunday morning, at 8:30, 10:00, & 11:30am, children enter the Kidsatorium for their own worship and teaching time.  Parents appreciate the opportunity to listen to Pastor Mark's message, knowing that their children are receiving exceptional care and supervision, as well as their own time to grow closer to God and their friends.
  • Mid-Week: Two times a year, in Spring and Fall, children K-5th grade are invited to a six-week series of Bible stories, games, crafts and singing.  Each series has a specific focus that will help your children understand God, themselves, and how to follow Jesus better.  Each session meets Thursdays, 6:30-8:00pm.
  • Vacation Bible School: VBS is a great way during the summer to get your kids involved in a wonderful ministry output.  They will learn about the Bible in new and adventurous ways, while having tons of fun doing it.
  • Family Camp: Specifically designed for families with children entering K-6th grade, Family Camp is a great time to get away and grow together.  Children K-3rd grade must have at least one parent attend with them; children 4-6th grade can attend with or without a parent.  Family Camp takes place in the summer.
